Main Purpose of Role
The Mandarin Teacher is responsible for implementing our Mandarin program at the elementary school level, as well as developing curriculum, planning and teaching instructional lessons, and assessing students at the elementary and middle school levels.
Language Department Goals
We believe in the power that learning a second language greatly contributes to a student’s overall development. Our program seeks to:
Develop cultural competency, equity, and inclusion by providing dual exposure to both Spanish and Mandarin
Develop proficiency in the following areas (adapted from World Readiness Standards, ACTFL):

Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers to plan, teach, and assess

Other duties including advisor for middle school: recess, lunch and other applicable duties; and participation in admissions events, as examples
